Dear American Club member,

Our first lunch in 2009 will take place on January 20, the day of the inauguration of US President-elect Barack Obama.

Our guest of honor will be JoãoRendeiro, who will speak to us about financial markets, his experienceas a banker, his book and his view as to the impact the new US president will have on the current financial turmoil.

A percentage of every lunch will be donated to AFID- Associação Nacional de Famílias para aIntegração de Pessoas Deficientes, a charity supported by our GuestSpeaker.

Later that afternoon, for those who can stay, the American Club has organized a separate event, as inauguration watch, for up to 50 people at theSheraton's rooftop Panorama bar. The Sheraton will provide live CNN transmissionof the events at The Mall in Washington DC surrounding thed swearing-in of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States at 5:00 pm Lisbon time.Given the limited capacity, we ask that those wishing to attend sign up with Anne Taylor Grave directly at 91-780-3431 beginning at 12:00 noon on January6.

For the lunchour private bar will open at 12.30 and the meal will begin promptly, at 13.00. For reservations, please mail or fax the attached form and send your payment. Please be advised that all our luncheons are PRE-PAID. As always, all guests must be accompanied by a member. Reservations are accepted on a first come first served basis.

You may cancel a confirmed individual reservation, without penalty, up to 17.00 on the day prior to the lunch by contacting Anne Taylor Grave or Cristina Camilo at Club headquarters. Members who fail to cancel a confirmed reservation by the deadline will not be reimbursed.
